President

Dr. Peter Parrish founded California Solar Engineering in 2002 in order to provide solar energy systems and renewable energy consulting to homes and business in the Los Angeles area. He earned BS and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of Colorado, Boulder and the University of California, Berkeley, respectively, and has held several faculty appointments including University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Northeastern University and Drexel University. He holds a State of California Solar Contractors license (Lic. #954779, C-46). He is a NABCEP™ Board-certified PV installer, one of very few in Southern California and is a member of several solar energy associations.

Mission Statement

We integrate and install the highest quality solar-electric systems to meet our customers' needs at reasonable prices. We back our systems with ten-year warranties on parts and workmanship and support all manufacturer warranties. We provide accurate performance estimates for our products and calculate conservative financial measures such as payback period and Internal Rate of Return.

Expertise

The California Solar Engineering staff is second to none.

We also employ the services of several highly trained specialists to insure that you own the best possible system for your needs.

A Ph.D. Solid State Physicist will insure that your solar energy system operates at maximum level of performance. This includes the selection of the best available equipment, optimally integrated and sited. As part of our design process, we perform a thorough site survey and assess module placement and orientation, shading, electrical losses, and other system impairments.

A registered architect reviews the design and physical layout to insure that aesthetics are taken into account and that you will understand how the system will be integrated into your environment.

A registered structural engineer reviews all but the simplest designs to insure that supporting structure will bear the dead and live loads encountered. This is especially important if we are requested to design and integrate the supporting structure such as a carport, lanai or canopy.

Our installation crews are supervised by a licensed general contractor and have undergone a minimum three-day training course taught by Endecon Engineering, SHARP SRS installation training, and Sharp SunVista inverter installation and service training.

We never use sub-contractors!
